Diagnostic activities

Diagnostics can either be routine diagnostics or emergency ones, thanks to on-call duty periods, who make the emergency team permanently available.

In case of a suspicion, samples are collected and the unit gets mobilized. It may also follow a request, from foreign countries mostly. To help them, the unit strives to continuously develop better diagnostic tools, that garantee faster and more reliable results, as well as being better suited to the field.

To this extent, thanks to our modern technologies, numerous animal diseases are diagnosed:

- Bluetongue (BT)

- Coronavirus

- Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD)

- Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD)

- Hepatitis E

- Louping ill

- Swine vesicular disease

- Tick Borne Encephalitis (TBE)

- Vesicular stomatitis

- West Nile fever
